Hey guys I just came across a artist who's work I like so much I had to start a new journal entry. His name is Svetlin Velinov. You may have heard of him, and if so, why didn't you tell me!

There are may artists that inspire me for different reasons. I have John Byrne listed below because he was the first artist of any kind that made me say, "I want to try and do that."
I also like Frank Frazetta (who doesn't?). And among those of more recent generations Alberto Ruiz, and fellow Deviants Zhuzhu[link] and Billy Nuñez[link] to name a tiny few.
Velinov fits right in there among the best. To me he's kind of a cross between Alberto Ruiz and Billy Nuñez.
That's my two cents. At any rate, these guys let me know I got a lot of practice to do so let me stop typing and start drawing.

Look out WORLD!

Just wanted to say hey to everyone and thank you for the warm reception. I was turned on to DA by a friend ([link]) and was instantly hooked. I've been a artist all my life but just recently found myself at a cross-road, being burned out by mundane graphic design jobs. I took a year off and through sites like this and the encouragement of friends I've discovered that my passion has always been in illustrations. I would get so busy in programs like InDesign and QX that I would go months without picking up a pencil and sketching something.
Well not anymore. I'm going to do the work that I love to do.
